What is, asbestos lung, transite?
Transite, asbestos lung, is a fireproof material that is an ingredient in certain building products. The material was first created in the 1920s; it was heavily used through the 1970s and 80s and continues to be used today.
How is transite used?
Because of its versatile, fireproof nature, transite is included in a range of building materials. It is most commonly found in wall products like fiber cement boards; however, transite is also used to manufacture roof and siding shingles, piping,, asbestos lung, furnace flues, tile and walk-in coolers.
